SA's Tarmac Rally Championship gets a new home and a new category for 2012

Once again, the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula will come alive in May with the running of the Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally from Friday 18th - Sunday 20th May.  The prologue and first stage will be held at Mallala Motorsport Park on day one, followed by a series of closed road stages, before heading to the home of this year’s event; Serafino Winery.

Serafino offers 30 hotel rooms on site for those that wish to stay at the event base where the cars will finish each day, and the starting point for days two and three. Serafino’s can be contacted on +61 8 8323 8911 or go to their website at http://www.serafinomclarenvale.com.au

In addition to the national Classic and Modern tarmac championships and the SA Rally Championship categories and the Thoroughbred Challenge category added last year, the 2012 event will include a Rookie category, providing newcomers the opportunity to compete on day 3 of the event to get started in the sport and gain experience.

Entry forms for the event are available for download, and organisers have already received entries from local and interstate competitors, some of whom are experiencing the Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally for the first time, at the urging of regular competitors.

Spectators and competitors alike can look forward to a mix of exciting new stages and entertaining old favourites.  And if spectating doesn't get you close enough to the action, consider joining the officiating team - you'll get behind the scenes information, a unique view, and make some new friends.  Bring friends and family along and work as a team, or come along on your own and team up with fellow motorsport nuts.
